Inclusive Church moved into its new home in August 2025, the IC Centre. This is the former Glad Abbot Pub, 26 Glastonbury Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 2EX. Inclusive Church had been on the Horringer Court estate for over 40 years by this point, and always prayed for a permanent home. We had met at Horringer Court Middle School for many years, and moved to the Day Centre at Glastonbury Court Care Home when the school site was closed.

Why does Inclusive Church need The IC Centre?
For a place where the church can be visible and accessible.
To create space for us to grow.
To use the legacy funds gifted to us to finance our 'home'.
To provide a place of contact for our community through offering its use to many groups.
As a base for our Feed-a-Family collection and distribution point. This is our food-bank for local families in need.

Why are we called The IC Centre?
IC is an abbreviation for Inclusive Church, so at its simplest, this is the reason for the name. We have chosen a 'neutral' name, not something overtly Christian, as we want the space to be used by our community - welcoming people, and building relationships is central to our vision and mission. Our Pastor, Stephen, also shared some theology with us on the abbreviation IC: "Iesous Christos. IC - the initials for Jesus Christ, just as they are for Inclusive Church. The circle of people represent (for me) a community of people with IC (us) at the centre. Or, a community of people in red (signifying having their sins washed away by the blood of Jesus?) with IC (Jesus) at the centre." So there's a significance to the abbreviation, and the choice of colours, that have Jesus quite literally at its centre.

What's The IC Centre used for?

It's the home for our church activities:
Sunday our regular 10:30am All Age All Welcome (10am for refreshments) services are held at the IC Centre.
We have a mid-week evening fellowship twice a month - contact us for the dates and times.
Friday 3:45pm-6pm, we co-host Play 2GROW, screen free playtime for primary school-aged children and their parents or carers.
Saturday the IC Cafe is open 10am-12:30 with a range of hot and cold drinks, sweet and savoury snacks (GF and DF options available) and a warm and friendly welcome. Well-behaved dogs (with paws on the floor, not on furniture) are welcome, and we have treats for them, too!

It's also a centre for community activities.
